Michael Goldsby

Michael Goldsby, Dept of Marketing & Management

Michael G. Goldsby, is the Chief Entrepreneurship Officer, Executive Director of the John H. Schnatter Institute for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise, the Stoops Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship, Professor of Management, and Director Emeritus of the Entrepreneurship Center and Program at Ball State University. He teaches creativity, innovation, and design in the university’s nationally-ranked undergraduate and graduate programs in entrepreneurship. Goldsby is a prolific scholar, having authored 35 refereed journal articles. He writes on design and innovation in the entrepreneurial process. His research has been cited in many national and international media outlets, and he is the co-author of Innovation Acceleration (Prentice Hall) and the forthcoming Design Centered Entrepreneurship (Routledge).

Goldsby holds degrees in business, economics, and strategic management from Indiana University, Indiana State University, and Virginia Tech. He is a board member on many management professional organizations and served as a board member of the United States Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE), from which he received a Distinguished Service Award. His current research interests focus on opportunity recognition and development, design, innovation, and applied creativity. He also is a frequent speaker and consultant.
